Lending 101 for Real Estate Agents #40129-RECE (1 Hour CE Credit)

In this course, real estate agents will learn how early mortgage preparation and informed communication can help protect buyers and financed transactions. The course explains the distinction between a prequalification based on unverified borrower representations and a preapproval supported by verified income, assets, credit, and an initial Automated Underwriting System (AUS) approval. Agents will learn why buyers benefit from becoming preapproved before seriously shopping for a home, how AUS findings guide the underwriting process, and how potential income, asset, credit, debt, property, and transaction concerns can be identified early. The course will also review practical strategies for buyers with limited funds to close or tight debt-to-income ratios, clarify the difference between a down payment and total funds to close, and explain the roles of title work, appraisal, closing, and funding. By the end of class, agents will be better prepared to evaluate financing strength, coordinate effectively with lenders and title professionals, and help clients avoid preventable delays.
